For me, when I set out to do something it’s always leading to something else but of course, everything I do is important but that thing getting in my way reduces my level of productivity but I was able to overcome this with these ultimate productivity hacks.

It’s been really hard ever since I got married, trying to juggle my to-do list together with my wife list and at the same time travelling from one city to the other on business purposes. With that, I’ve had to learn how to become productive with these genius life hacks to simplify your life like It simplified mine.

To achieve that “I’ve had to read a lot of how-to’s from the best productivity blog and its not been easy experimenting, some of them worked but I’ve also had to come up with my things to do to be more productive”.

Some of which are to work more productively, spending less time surfing on Facebook and Instagram, coming up with a calendar for myself and many more.

Since we’re different people with different discipline and philosophies, It is important to note that some of my productivity hack might work for you but the rest might not apply to you. Like I said earlier, I experimented between these productivity hack, so stick to what works for you and I guess you know what to do about the ones that doesn’t fit you right?🤓.

1. WAKE UP AS EARLY AS 5:00 AM

To start with, waking up as early as 5 am remains one of the best productivity hacks. I know a lot of you will probably be thinking that’s gross but trust me I’ve been there before. To be more productive you have to apply the best productivity methods which is why waking up as early as 5 am remains the first method we’re considering to be productive today.

The scope is this, before sleeping at night I update my to-do list for the next day, so when I wake up in the morning around 5 am, the first thing I do is pray and start with the hardest job on my to-do list. That said, if you want to learn how to be the most productive then you need to learn how to do your most tasking job first when you wake up in the morning before focusing on stuff that will take your time.

To achieve this strategies for productivity, you can start slowly. If you’re the type that wakes up around 8 am, set your time backward with about 45minutes and that’ll leave you waking up around 7:25 am. Now that’s a good start when you wake up try doing the hardest job on your to-do list and once you get used to waking up at 7:25 am try setting the time backward with about 30minutes. 

Repeat the process of doing the hardest job on your list on and on until you get used to waking up early to achieve the most productive hack on my list of 21 tips to become the most productive person you want to be.

Trust me, this is a no brainer. Aside from been proven medically, you’ll love the feeling of starting the morning with a glass of lukewarm water.

When I started out working in an accounting firm I could barely last the day working on a high without dropping my level of performance. If you’ve worked in Lagos before, you’ll understand that nothing worn’s a man out from Africa than the traffic in Lagos.

I’ve had to learn this the hard way but it pays to minimise your social media usage. I won’t come here to start giving you guys some bunch of quack advice on how you use your media pages and all that, trust me I don’t want to that 🤓.

It’s very easy to get distracted with our social media page and once we get into it, its always hard to come out of it but one thing that makes the difference for me is my love for money. 

I often get distracted with my media pages but when its time to come out of it, what I do is to feed my brain with the amount of expenses I’m having for that month and that helps a lot in setting my head straight. If you want to be more productive with your time, then you’ll need to limit the usage of your media page to be more productive with extra hours in your day.

One thing you need to know is this if you want to learn how to always be productive, chatting and talking on the phone takes a lot from our precious time and as a business person, you need to learn how to track your phone usage by setting goals for it. That way, you’ll be able to get back to your work without spending too much time on your phone.

Giving out charity is a top drive hack that makes you and the person receiving the charity happy. No one gives out from their pocket willingly with a grumpy face, a little bit of kindness can go a long way and it improves your mood.

Like I said earlier, our phones are a major distraction but when you learn to control your phone usage, you’ve successfully eliminated a major distraction that is stopping you from being more productive. 

Often, when I want to do something productive meaning (to produce a positive result on something) I’ll turn off my phone notification and I probably won’t care about what’s going on in it until I achieve a satisfactory level of productivity. 

If you want to learn some of the best ways to be productive at work, you’ll need to understand this basic scope that “no one’s request at that time is more important than what you want to achieve” the whole idea is to stay away from distraction and your phone notification can be a potential distraction to you. Did you miss any of these moments from the election campaign last week?” That is an awkward notification and if I’m been honest you probably won’t even read the notification after achieving a satisfactory level of productivity.

The only notification that matters to me is family notifications and that’s when they’re important.

For an iPhone user like me, I have a list of users that can call me when it’s needed urgently. (Families, Close friends and Co-workers) are some of the people that can reach me on phone without restrictions even in “do not disturb” mode. That leave other calls out and when such call comes in it goes straight to my voicemail. In my free time, I can then reach out to the number.

Since emails are so important, I don’t joke with them but you need to set a time for them. By doing that you’re learning to take control of your time.

For people working as a Virtual Assistantthey tend to receive a lot of emails from time to time. Setting aside 2 hours during the day for replying to those email isn’t such a bad idea rather than replying them immediately you receive them which will distract you. With that, you’ll be effectively productive in delivering efficiently.

To achieve everything I’ve listed above in an organised manner, it is important to use a to-do list app to smoothen the process. 

There’re a couple of awesome To-do apps out there like, Wunderlist and Google Keep. I have been using the later for a couple of years and its been great. Try using any of those to be more productive today.

Smiling goes a long way if you want to learn how to become more effective at work. Unlike other random life hacks, I would say smiling often during the day is a genius life hacks that has been proven at all fronts.

When I was struggling with work in an accounting firm, I love doing works like “account reconciliations” but when random task like “stock count” are thrown on my desk I go from happy to grumpy because I hate doing stock counts. But during that time, one thing I realise was, been grumpy doesn’t help my days at work and I often go home with those grumpy mood until I learn what the problem was and I solved it by simply smiling at my problems.

Personally what I do is to select my shoes with 6-7 shirts and trousers for the new week on Sunday’s. That allows for a quick dressing up every morning which for me is a great idea.

Since am not so fussy about clothing items, I like keeping things simple but yet classic. The scope is to do things productively, it doesn’t sound good to be looking for belts and socks in the morning before going to work so to achieve a good level of productivity, it pays to arrange everything in an orderly manner.

By so doing, living life will be so much easier since everything has been arranged for the new week.

Notes are very important and I can’t do without them. have been adding a sticky note beside my desk to remind me of the things I have to achieve daily for more 8 years now.

I’ve expressed the importance of a To-Do list earlier, having a note to remind you of what needs to be done, when and how to achieve them is just another example of productivity at work.

Setting a goal and deadline is as important as having a To-Do list, without these two, it’s like you’re saying nothing is important when it comes to delivering at work.

I know this sounds weird and you must be thinking what if I don’t stay alone?. Well! Well !! Well !!!

Sleeping with no clothes on is what have been doing since I was a kid, it will dramatically increase the quality of your sleep and allow you to be more productive during your workday.

The only time I sleep with clothes on are when am working in a friends house or for some reasons am not sleeping under my roof then I’ll have some clothes on but then again I won’t be able to sleep because am not in my house.
